This is not true! We have a couple of HP printers at the office and they
do fine with postscript binary data. Unless you are referring to
downloading some types of binary files in particular...

The Mac writes postscript code in binary by default. Although you can
change this from some applications, if you have placed EPS graphics is a
file and choose ASCII code, the EPSs might contain embedded binary data.
However this has never been a problem printing to these HP printers using
the AdobePS 8.5.1 and PSPrinter drivers which will send the code in
binary.

That's the only drivers we use, we don't use HP's drivers for these
printers, so far so good.
