It's a MS Proxy Security setting. It's happening because the
administrators of the server are locking it down so that only
authorized people can access the internet. MS Proxy Server is
designed to work with Windows clients and use the username and
password that a Windows user uses to log onto their computer. It
isn't designed to work with non-Windows clients very well and this is
a result of that.
It may be possible to fix the problem on the server, but I
don't know. Turning the authorization off and allowing anyone to use
the server will fix it, but the administrators probably don't want
that.
